Welcome to the Edward Bell Career Tech Center (EBCTC) welding program. Our welding program provides students in grades 10 through 12th with an opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge, and understanding needed to enter the competitive industry as an entry-level welder. Students will learn safety procedures, welding terminology, equipment identification, and set-up and operation of the welding process. Valuable instructions are offered in several processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Oxy-fuel, Plasma Arc, Carbon Arc Cutting, along with using hand tools and power tools.
The welding industry has a broad array of jobs available including ship building, pipe welding, construction, manufacturing, fabrication, inspecting, education, and sales. With salaries ranging from entry level jobs starting at $35,000 a year to more advanced and highly skilled jobs make up to and over $100,000 dollars a year.
At the Edward Bell Career Technical Center, students have the opportunity to receive nationally recognized credentialing from NCCER along with taking college credit courses through Dual- Enrollment.
Students also have the opportunities to be part of a Career Tech Student Organization (CTSO) our CTSO is SkillsUSA which is a nationally recognized organization.

Students must have a minimum cumulative (unweighted) grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on 4.0 scale.
